Moving Out!

Hello everyone...

I have a big news! As some of you might already know, I've moved out of my parents' house earlier this week and now sharing a small apartment with my friend Aica. It's been fantastic having our own place in my favorite area.

Starting a new life is always expensive. We've been trying to save money by going to Salvation Army to get cheap used stuff. We got a bowl, pan, long chop sticks for cooking, turner, ladle, spinner for salads, and etc for only 1,000 yen (about $12)!  Also we have been so lucky to get the fridge, microwave, washing machine, pots, toaster and etc for FREE from our friends.  So as for the essentials, we only need a dining table with chairs, coffee table, mats, and hopefully a bunk bed. Just gotta keep on asking around and checking craigslist everyday :)

The area is really nice. Only a block away there is a nice long waterworks street with lots of greens and cherry blossom trees on both sides. It's close to a supermarket and convenience store. And there are lots of streetlights on my way home from the train station so it feels quite safe. A nearby elementary school creates peaceful atmosphere too.

Another great thing is that my workplace is going to move its office to where it's only two train stops away from my new place! I might even be able to bike there or for sure take a bus for 10 min or so. SO LUCKY! It's like all of this are meant to be. :)

My new roomie Aica and I have been getting along well even though we both are very stubborn. lol  Tonight we cooked our first meal together, which was cheese risotto. It turned out super OISHI! Notice we are still using a cardboard box as our dining table? hahaha. Live Simple! ^^

But unfortunately there are not only good things about our new life. We've been very annoyed by continuous noise from upstairs every night and morning. The noise sounds like cutting something on a cutting board but obviously its goes on too long for that and happens too randomly. We can't think of any action that makes that kind of noise. It's SO weird.
We've knocked on the doors of two rooms upstairs but haven't found out who were doing it. They might just be lying or its simply from other neighbors. I highly doubt it though. I don't want to give up finding out who and tell them to really watch themselves, but I might just have to get used to it and learn not to care so much if I can't catch them. So stressful! :(

April is a month of new beginnings. The long cold winter is finally gone and now the flowers are blooming making everyone smile. There are freshmen at all colleges, new workers at all companies, and here are us starting our own new lives. I would like us to be respectful, caring, and making each other happy at all times. I hope this is going to be a very special experience, and I already know it's going to be one!

Thank you for reading my blog.

I'll post some photos of beautiful cherry blossoms next time :)

Ciao!

The sunset I saw when I was moving from my parents' place to the new apartment. This made me a bit emotional. lol
